Scheduled this week I've got:
- Turkey nachos with all the fixin's plus carrots & dressing* on the side
- Asian-style pork chops with sauteed green bell peppers & onions, brown rice, and carrots
- Chicken with a cream-based sauce with spinach and potato wedges
- Salmon with lemon-butter sauce, brown rice, and a frozen veg (undecided still)
- Goulash -- my husband will be cooking this and it tastes just like my mom's! This is also a favorite of mine because it's very inexpensive and it makes a lot -- enough usually for 2 dinners and a lunch or 2.
I understand about things not tasting so good. Prepared foods taste really salty to me nowadays.
ReplyDeleteI noticed under your photo that you live in a very small town. Has the recession effected your town?
ReplyDeleteLooks like you have a yummy week planned.
Have a great Halloween or Harvest Festival!
Rona, to be honest, since we are only 1 hour from Indianapolis it's not too bad. It's a lower middle class town and there's no pressure about keeping up with the joneses, which I think helps. There is unemployment and job openings fill up fast, but the state is doing a lot to help people find work. They even made a website where there are hundreds, maybe thousands, of jobs posted weekly and the jobs are all over the state. I'm currently looking for employment, but I've been blessed to have a bit of luxury in that department. It's cheaper to live out here (we just moved here 4 months ago) so I can afford to take a pay cut or to work part-time instead of full-time. My biggest problem is that I worked in non-profit at my last job and I'm not 100% sure that's where I want to return. I have faith that God will lead me where I'm meant to go.
